Welcome

Want to get the whole extended family together for a celebration or holiday? Picture the scene: striding out each morning for an adventure on the hills, then home to hot showers and central heating, a drink by the roaring fire… enjoying cooking and serving a fabulous meal together…then sinking into blissfully comfortable beds…

And all with enough space for parents, brothers and sisters, and all their kids to relax, to breathe, to enjoy themselves.

Yorkshire Dales House – otherwise known as the old School House in Middleham, DL8 4QG – is a large holiday house in a small town in the Yorkshire Dales, which could be the perfect venue for you.

This stunning historic house is in the middle of a classic Dales village with four great local pubs and a village shop within 100 yards. It’s in a conservation area, and there are lovely country walks from the door.

Directly opposite the house is the ruin of Middleham Castle, historic home of 15th-century King Richard III (the one whose body was found in a Leicester car park).

Nowadays, Middleham is the base for many racing stables, and guests love to watch the daily parade as dozens of horses pass the door on their way to the gallops.

Check availability and make your booking using the calendar and form on the right.

Your Neighbours In Middleham

School House is in a residential area. Neighbours include early-rising stable staff, and the garden is overlooked by bedroom windows, so keep noise to a minimum after 10pm. Fireworks and hot tubs are not allowed.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome: one or two dogs per party. There is an extra charge of £20 per dog.
