Middleham and Wensleydale are fabulous places for foodies. As a major horse racing centre, Middleham is a working town – which means it supports a surprisingly large choice of eateries for a place of its size.
There are no less than four pubs – all of which serve food:
Middleham also has a fish and chip takeaway, and Fairhurst’s Bistro in the Key Centre.
For tea, coffee, sandwiches and fabulous cakes, the tea room at The Priory next door is highly recommended. The Castle Keep tea room is another option.
Please don’t come to Middleham expecting nightclubs! It’s a very long way to anywhere that’s open after midnight.
